Daniel Lim’s passion in life is to radically imagine and build societies that are in regenerative relationship with the planetary web of life. While fulfilling this passion will take many forms throughout his lifetime, Daniel is currently doing this great work as the principal of Daniel Lim Consulting, a consulting firm he founded in 2012 to help build regenerative cultures and advance social justice in organizations and communities. He has over seven years of experience designing and leading high-impact training and consulting projects on matters of liberation, equity, systems change, and organizational and leadership development. Daniel is a queer and first-generation immigrant of Chinese descent. He was born in Myanmar and moved to the United States when he was eight years old, and grew up in a working-class family. His identities and life experiences shape his knowledge of social justice matters and his approach to training and facilitation.
Before starting his own consulting practice, Daniel worked for many years in diverse fields including a for-profit fundraising and advocacy consulting firm, environmental justice and urban planning nonprofits, and New York City government. He studied ecological design, permaculture, and community development at the University of Vermont (B.S. Natural Resources), and urban planning, environmental justice, and arts and cultural development at Pratt Institute (M.S. City and Regional Planning). He is a McNair Scholar. He lives with his husband in Brooklyn.
