Job Opening: Director of Communications and Outreach, Program Manager

The Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor is currently looking for a new Director of Communications and Outreach and a Program Manager.  The Director of Communications and Outreach replaces a long-time employee who is relocating with her family.  The next Director will maintain the same high standards the Canalway has come to expect while also leading it in new directions.  The Program Manager is a newly created position and will expand the Canalway’s capacity to grow its multi-faceted programs and initiatives and have an even greater impact throughout the 524-mile-long Corridor.

Director of Communications and Outreach

We are seeking a Director of Communications and Outreach to develop and implement a communications and outreach strategy for the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor, in a high-quality manner consistent with the mission and values of the organization. S/he will work closely with staff, volunteers and partners and must possess a solid record of communications and outreach achievement. Selected applicant must have superior written and verbal communication skills and demonstrate ability to work effectively with an organizational team and with broad audiences. Program Manager

We seek to hire an individual for a newly created full-time Program Manager position to: manage programs and projects related to historic preservation, tourism promotion, and heritage development and/or community revitalization; provide support to other professional program staff responsible for managing such programs/projects; and assist with program/project resource development. The successful applicant must have excellent administrative, organizational, written and verbal communication skills and clearly demonstrate the ability to work effectively with an organizational team and partners. S/he must be flexible and able to multi-task. This position will report to the Executive Director.
