Parks & Trails New York is seeking an Arthur V. Savage Intern for the 2015-2016 academic year. The Arthur V. Savage Internship Program offers an opportunity for undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates to work in Albany with the Parks & Trails New York staff to shape environmentally intelligent policies, organize grassroots constituents and provide stewardship for parks, trails, and other outdoor recreational facilities.
The program provides interns with valuable insight and first-hand experience in the environmental field, helping organize and promote I Love My Park Day, Canal Clean Sweep, and Park and Trail Advocacy Days, as well as assisting with PTNY’s advocacy and outreach efforts for state parks funding, funding for bike and pedestrian projects, and other park-and trail-related issues.
Hours: Part-time, 15-20 hours/week. Hours are flexible in terms of days and times but must be within regular work week hours (M-F, 9-5). Position starts in September and runs ideally through May, but requires at least a 15-week commitment.
Compensation: $10.00 per hour. May be used for college internship requirements.
