Albany has been affectionately called “Brasilia of the North.” This phrase refers specifically to Empire State Plaza, which was conceived of and built several years after the Brazilian government was moved from coastal Rio de Janeiro to a new site some 500 miles away: Brasilia.

Pull up a barstool and listen to Dr. Doug Cohn explore the similarities and differences between Albany and Brasilia. Reservations are required and can be made by contacting Nicki at info@historic-albany.org or (518)465-0876, ext. 10.
