Reporting directly to the President and Board of Directors, the Executive Director is the Chief Executive Officer of the organization. The ED carries out HAF’s mission in partnership with the board and will provide strategic direction and hands-on management of the organizations’s programs and operations. S/He serves as the organization’s primary advocate for HAF’s preservation action agenda, and its related policies and initiatives. The ED will be the lead fundraiser responsible for cultivating donor relationships, securing financial grants and seeking other revenue streams to strengthen HAF’s financial position for future investments and long-term sustainability.This full-time, professional position requires demonstrated leadership, financial and project management skills; a record of strong collaboration and partnerships; experience as the face of an organization; well-developed and interpersonal skills and the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively.The ideal candidate is passionate about historic preservation or a related field and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience, including managing complex preservation and restoration projects, directing major fundraising efforts, advocating and interacting with government agencies, directing staff, and working closely with a committed board and active board committees.
