March 30: Erosion & Sediment Control Construction Activity Training

IMG_7620 (600x800)On Wednesday, March 30th, the Albany County Soil and Water Conservation District will host and Erosion & Sediment Control Construction Activity Training at their facility in Voorheesville. The cost is $85. Check out the flyer. To sign up, fill out the registration form and submit it to the Conservation District. A form for each trainee must be completed and returned with the pre‐payment.  Space is limited and PRE‐REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED by March 23rd or until full.

Under the new NYS Department of Environmental Conservation’s Stormwater Permit GP‐0‐10‐001, all developers, contractors and subcontractors must identify at least one trained individual from their company that will be responsible for implementation of the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan, and have at least one trained individual on site on a daily basis when soil disturbance activities are being performed.

If you have municipal staff that will serve as a trained individual or qualified inspector they must have received 4 hours of training in the principles of erosion & sediment control within the past couple years.

Planning & zoning board members may use this training  to satisfy the state statute requiring planning and zoning board requirement to obtain four hours of training a year.
